Grammar. You gotta love it. Grammar knowledge, along with a knowledge of literary terms, gives students the special language they need to discuss writing as well as specific ways to improve their own.
FIND A GRAMMAR TEXT
Unless you are already an ace in grammar, it's a good idea to get some kind of English grammar text to teach from, or at least have an English grammar and composition handbook
