leaf art
I meant to post this earlier- a project done with the grandchildren. For a complete tutorial click here. These look nice hanging outside the house, too, or around a door, a picture frame, a wreathe, hanging from a light... And remember- as the leaves may fall from the tree, fallen souls may forget God, but Krishna never leaves us. He is ever present as the Supersoul dwelling within every heart.

Kartik Crafts
With the closing of Kartik, here's a pic of the homemade lanterns we made this year. Good for outdoor decoration, especially during Diwali, or as additonal lighting on the altar.
A tutorial for making tin can lanterns may be found by clicking this link.
UPDATE: More kartik crafts:

snow flake art
This is a good seasonal craft for ages 7 and up. For an extra shiny surface, these were made from the seals inside a large tub of (Daisy brand) sour cream. Fold each round in half thrice. Pattern ideas are available by doing a Google image search. Appreciation for Krishna's snowflake artistry can also be found online.

Debunking the Evolution Myth
What I dislike so far with K12 program is our mandatory chapter about Evolution in the Life Science class. On the one hand its nice to be able to read about what evolutionists believe and spot their errors up front, but all the speculation gets tedious and rather insulting to Krishna, so to take a nice break we head for the Forbidden Archeology Museum (click on the right where it says "Forbidden

Stuff That's Working
This is an ongoing post of ideas worth sharing:
STUDENT BLOG
Don't have an audience of friends or family when its time for him to give a speech in English class? Make a video recording. The fact that someone may watch it later on, especially if you set up a blog for family members and friends to view, causes him to take care in his presentation. It also gives the student a chance to view himself

Working With the K12 Program
Whenever I get some spare time I'll post here how working with the K12 program is going for us. Our temple GBC has also been asking me about it, so I want to write down stuff that I may forget over time.
First off, the best thing is the PRESSURE to get stuff done. During all my other years of homeschooling, we didn't have that, and so other things always seemed to take precedence over our

Wow!
Update on the K12 curriculum. It just arrived in the mail today. I'd say there's like $500 worth of material on the table, and there's more to come for History and Art the second semester. All supplies are in excellent condition and came with absolutely no charge. Paid for courtesy of Uncle Sam.
I just have to tell others about this. If more devotees enroll, we can see more homeschool co-ops

update
Since we are back in the U.S.A., I am back to homeschooling. Life has been so busy I am willing to try out the public school curriculum put out by K12 in alliance with the current state we live in. The neat part is that it is all free of charge. Usability remains to be seen. Here's more info for ready made, free curriculum available in many states today:http://www.k12.com/

Make a hole where trunk begins and insert finger there.Variation: an apple with a "worm".

A
Seva Savings
Here's an idea for a homemade Krishna conscious board game:
The playing board is square shaped. Each corner has either the pujari room, temple room, prasadam room or gift shop space. There are six spaces between each corner. They have a symbol, starting at the left, for Lord Jagannath, a clock, and a book, Lord Jagannatha again, a clock again and another book space before reaching the next

Drama Standards for Prabhupada's Pleasure
(author unknown)Prabhus, Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and all the devotees engaged in the varieties of preaching the movement of Lord Caitanyadeva! By now you probably wondered if I fell off the face of the earth! No, I'm here - just backed up with activities. I had a transcendentally wonderful time in India!!! So, I was reading through the pages about Drama and
